Buttigieg slams Trump: My marriage never involved 'hush money to a porn star'

Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg slammed President Donald Trump and Rush Limbaugh at a CNN town hall Tuesday night. Last week, Limbaugh came under fire for making homophobic comments about Buttigieg and his marriage, something he has said he won’t apologize for, according to Limbaugh, because Trump told him not to. But between Limbaugh’s comments and Trump telling the conservative radio host not to apologize, Trump said he’d vote for a gay presidential candidate, and Buttigieg isn’t buying the contradictory stories.

Asked if he’d take Trump at his word about voting for a gay candidate, Buttigieg responded, “Well, not if he’s sending out his supporters to talk in this way.”

Buttigieg then got into the absurdity of Trump or Limbaugh taking anyone to task over family values being that they have seven marriages between them.

“I mean, the idea that Rush Limbaugh or Donald Trump lecturing anybody on family values…” Buttigieg said before being drowned out by cheers from the crowd.

Buttigieg then brought up the hush money payments made to porn star Stormy Daniels and Playboy Playmate Karen McDougal before the 2016 election for alleged extramarital affairs with Trump, stating that that’s something he’s never had to do.

“Sorry, but one thing about my marriage is, it’s never involved me having to send hush money to a porn star after cheating on my spouse with him or her,” Buttigieg said to thunderous applause. “So, they want to debate family values? Let’s debate family values. I’m ready.”
