Homeowner kicks out sister-in-law for touching garden: ‘I told her to pack her bags’

A woman kicked her sister-in-law (SIL) out for breaking the house rules.

She posted her story on Reddit’s “Am I the A******? (AITA)” forum. Her brother recently split from his wife. Now, she is staying with the Reddit poster. The Reddit poster asked the sister-in-law to obey only one house rule: never touch the garden.

“Ever since she moved in I have told her that the one thing she can never touch is my garden,” the Reddit poster wrote.

“SIL assured me that she would never touch my garden if I didn’t want her to. My garden is extremely important to me so I was relieved that she wouldn’t mess with it.”

But when the Reddit poster came home early from work, she caught her sister-in-law in the garden.

See this bedroom turn into a vibrant oasis after an incredible one-day renovation:

“When I stepped out, I was shocked to see SIL messing around with my rose bushes. Like WTH the ONE thing I asked her not to touch and she’s just tearing at the leaves trying to pick one!!!!!” the Reddit poster said.

“I told her to pack her bags and get out of my house, and if she couldn’t follow one simple rule she couldn’t stay with me. She told me that was ridiculous and that it was just a garden. I still told her to leave.”

Redditors didn’t think the homeowner did anything wrong.

“You gave her a hard boundary and she chose to ignore it,” a person commented.

“It’s the only rule you had and she decided that it wasn’t that big of a deal,” a user said.

“If she can’t follow one simple rule then who knows what else she’s going to get into,” another wrote.
