Kate Hudson Has a Wild Story About Tom Cruise Crashing Her Party

With Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell as her parents, Kate Hudson grew up around more than her fair share of A-listers — including Tom Cruise, who apparently crashed a party at the house when she was a teen.

On Thursday, she and brother Oliver made an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where they revealed that Cruise once channeled his Mission Impossible character and scaled an actual gate to get to their party.

Hudson recalled that as the more responsible sibling at the time, "I just always wanted to make sure everything worked out OK... I'm standing at the door making sure people who aren't supposed to be at the party aren't coming in."

And that's when she saw someone trying to get in.

"I see someone scaling, literally scaling, an eight-foot gate at my parents' house. I'm literally freaking out," she said. "They come off and do a back handspring thing. I'm about to yell at this guy, and it's Tom Cruise! And I was like, 'Oh, I didn't realize you were coming to our party.' He was like, 'I heard there was a party.' And I'm like, 'Yeah, Tom, come on in!' He is Mission: Impossible! It was wild."

Back in 2011, Hudson revealed she had a childhood crush on Cruise, telling Graham Norton at the time that she used to rewind scenes of his movie, All the Right Moves because she was "just crazy about him."

No word on whether that crush developed before or after the literal gate-crashing, but suffice to say, Cruise knows how to make an entrance.
