After years of minimalism, more was suddenly more when it came to the Fall collections. Brands like Marc Jacobs, Gucci, and even Céline showed romantic, lush, overwhelmingly rich clothes. There was brocade, embroidery, fur, ruffles, sequins. Long gowns, billowing pants, silk pajama suits, and full sleeves celebrated the drama of fashion, the pure joy of an aspirational runway. What better backdrop to showcase this fanciful attire than the diverse and colorful streets of Morocco? We headed to Fès, the country’s former capital, with our suitcases packed with Lanvin, Valentino, Altuzarra and the like to capture the glamour of it all. From the market of the Grand Bazaar to the ruins of Marinid Palace, it was the perfect setting for the woman loves to dream and wears extravagant clothes with ease.
